Introduction — BIOQUANT

Introduction to Bone Measurement

Major BIOQUANT Features

Digital Histology Support

TIF support up to 4GB uncompressed. Compatible with Leica (Aperio) ImageScope Extract Region as TIF. Compatible with Hamamastu Nanozoomer Export Region as TIF.

Confocal and Lightsheet Image Data Support

Confocal and lightsheet data in OME-TIF is support up to 4GB uncompressed. The BIOFORMATS plug-in for Fiji/ImageJ converts most confocal and lightsheet data to OME-TIF.

Analysis Template Library

BIOQUANT comes with a library of ASBMR standard templates for a whole range of analysis tasks in musculoskeletal research. Pick a template that matched your project and get started!

Customizable Analysis Templates

Customize any analysis template to your project’s exact requirements. Rename parameters. Define new parameters. BIOQUANT works the way your lab works.

Smart Image Segmentation

Image segmentation is the automated process of separating the structure to measure from the rest of the image. BIOQUANT features a single-stain “on click” segmentation algorithm to rapidly segment an image. No complex settings to adjust. No parameters to tune. The segmentation is computed instantaneously.

BIOQUANT also features an advanced multi-stain segmentation that allows rapid segmentation of histology labeled with multiple stains.

Editable Image Segmentation

Every segmentation algorithm requires some degree of correction. With BIOQUANT, there’s no need to adjust segmentation parameters and wait for the segmentation to update. BIOQUANT allows the direct editing of the segmentation with a selection of simple draw and erase tools as well as scriptable editing commands to improve the accuracy of segmentations before measurement.

Rapid Object Detection

After segmentation, BIOQUANT performs high-seed object detection based on trainable morphological parameters. Objects selected for measurement are analyzed for multiple parameters simultaneously including area, number, location, and stain intensity. Measured objects are mapped as polygons on the plane and exportable as raw vertex data or SVG.

No-code Automation

Images and whole slides scan can be analyzed automatically using our no-code batch processing engine. Given a boundary zone on a section, BIOQUANT can collect data from within the boundary and automatically skip tissue outside the boundary.
